The Healthy Heart and the Healthy You


Hello All

In our earlier topic we discussed the importance of Healthy Cells for a Healthy body. We had mentioned that various cells are responsible for the various functions of our body.

In today’s topic we will be discussing about one of the major parts of our body


THE HEART 


Our heart is prone to various types of dysfunctioning due to lesser cellular dieting. As all will be knowing the various types of diseases associated with the heart like Pressure, tightness, pain, squeezing/aching sensation in your chest or arms,Nausea, indigestion, shortness of breath, cold sweat, fatigue to name a few

Having said the above, let us now know some nutrients for having a healthy heart

Omega 3 Fatty Acids – It support your heart by decreasing inflammation, preventing clot formation and helps maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Quercetin – This is plant-derived flavonoid and contains natural anti-inflammatory properties that help to prevent blood clots – Apples have Quercetin in them

Folate - helps to maintain healthy levels of homocysteine.

Coenzyme Q10 – This acts as a natural anti-oxidant and energy-producer for every cell in our body. It normalizes the blood pressure

Monounsaturated fats – reduces bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels, which are associated with heart disease.

L-Carnitine – This is an amino acid derivative found in almost all of our cells. It’s essential for healthy cholesterol levels as well as for breaking down fats into energy so that our heart muscle can function properly.

 Lycopene - Lycopene increased levels of super oxide dismutase, which in turn reduced blood pressure.

Magnesium - Every organ in our body, and especially our heart, needs magnesium to function properly. Magnesium is essential for a normal heartbeat and to reduce blood pressure, when high

Polyphenols - Polyphenols help to increase nitric oxide production in our body which causes blood vessels to relax and dilate and thereby lowering blood pressure.

Reservatrol – This prevents blood clotting and also enhances antioxidant and nitric oxide production leading to a good blood pressure. This is one of a heart-healthy nutrient that is best taken as a supplement
